What is Somatic Yoga?

Somatic Yoga is a gentle, mindful approach that helps develop self-awareness and self-regulation.

Because of its emphasis on nervous system regulation, it’s ideal for stress and anxiety reduction, as well as exercise recovery.

Somatic movement is slow, gentle and repetitive, with the aim of fine tuning your body and spatial awareness. It is therefore ideal for improving movement patterns and posture.

What makes Somatic Yoga with Eleanor unique?

As an interdisciplinary practitioner, I approach healing and development from both mind and body perspectives. Through my study of psychotherapy and yoga therapy, I have gathered insights from psychology, physiology and neuroscience to design my classes with the intention to rewiring the mind-body system for optimal stress management and recovery.

From my study of remedial therapy, sports massage and functional movement, I bring in specific joint mobilisations and integrative movement chains to gently encourage your body to find the most easeful ways to move.
